Specialist: MI/BI

We are currently recruiting for a MI/BI specialist to join our team in Randburg, Johannesburg. The role will be focused on managing data to enable the business to make sound and informed decisions. Key responsibilities will include business intelligence reporting; data stewardship and information management and using knowledge to impact business directly with internal clients to define requirements, design and implement appropriate solutions.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree – BSC Information Technology or relevant
  • SQL 2008/12/14
  • Hands on experience in developing and building data analytics platforms
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience, of which at least 3 years of data analysis, data mining experience
  • 3-5 years SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
  • A strong background in file interrogation/data analysis
  • Database management
  • Professional experience with data analytics software (AC, Tableau, SQL Scripting, and Query Optimisation ).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement the overall analytics and business intelligence strategy
  • Discover new opportunities to optimize the business through data mining and analytics
  • Investigate possible methods of improving and/or increasing the automation of the reporting process
  • Constantly look for opportunities to develop reporting tools, statistical models, and data-driven analysis to drive sales and service efforts around client needs and conversion
  • Develop KPI dashboard
  • Be responsible for all phases of business intelligence/reporting development and information delivery including gathering of business requirements
  • Content creation assistance – Source benchmarking data and apply to analytics to ensure accurate benchmarking of the Company’s processes against best practices.
  • Work closely with data delivery teams to ensure channel contention, data overlaps and closed loop processes are managed effectively
  • Work with business to identify information needs and develop reporting; primary requirements include the management team, finance, and operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills and demonstrated analytical competencies
  • Communicate with other divisions in the organization to deliver a stable and highly available reporting platforms
  • Work closely with the IT department on data infrastructure to enhance strategies for your teams
